Stanton Friedman

Stanton T. Friedman

The UFO "WHY?" Questions

Mr. Friedman has been fortunate enough to lecture over 700 times in 16 countries. His audiences, mostly college and professional groups, seem to have no problem accepting the detailed factual data that I present leading to my conclusions that some UFOs are Alien Spacecraft and that the subject of flying saucers represents a kind of Cosmic Watergate. .But what seems to be of most concern, judging by the Question and Answer sessions, are the "WHY?" questions. Why would saucers crash? Why would aliens visit Earth? Why doesn't the government tell us what it knows? Why would aliens not land on the White House lawn or at the United Nations? Why do you say SETI stands for Silly Effort To Investigate? Why have you kept at it for 38 years? Why hasn't the government taken you out? Perhaps my answers will help the reader answer his "why" questions...or lead to more such questions.

Stanton T. Friedman received BSc and MSc degrees in physics from the University of Chicago in 1955 and 1956. He was employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist for such companies as GE, GM, Westinghouse, TRW Systems, Aerojet General Nucleonics, and McDonnell Douglas on such advanced, classified, eventually cancelled, projects as nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and nuclear powerplants for space. Since 1967 he has lectured on the topic "Flying Saucers ARE Real!" at more than 600 colleges and over 100 professional groups in 50 states, 9 provinces, 14 other countries. He has published more than 80 UFO papers and appeared on hundreds of radio and TV programs. He is the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident and co-authored "Crash at Corona: The Definitive Study of the Roswell Incident." TOP SECRET/MAJIC, his explosive book about the Majestic 12 group established in 1947 to deal with crashed saucers, was published in 1996 and is in its 6th printing [2nd edition due September 2005]. Stan was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award in Leeds, England, in September, 2002, by UFO Magazine of the UK. A documentary "Stanton T. Friedman IS Real" was broadcast in Canada in 2002. He has provided written testimony to Congressional Hearings, appeared twice at the UN, and been a pioneer in many aspects of Ufology including Roswell, Majestic 12, the Betty Hill-Marjorie Fish star map work; analysis of the Delphos, Kansas, physical trace case; crashed saucers, flying saucer technology and challenges to the S.E.T.I. (Silly Effort to Investigate) cultists. Stanton Friedman takes a clear-cut unambiguous stand that SOME UFOs are alien spacecraft, that the subject of flying saucers represents a Cosmic Watergate, that none of the anti-UFO arguments made by a variety of noisy negativists stand up to careful scrutiny, and that we are dealing with the biggest story of the past millennium: visits to Planet Earth by alien spacecraft and the successful coverup by governments of the best data: alien wreckage and bodies recovered in New Mexico, for 58 years. He has spent many weeks at a total of 20 document archives. Stan has successfully taken on many critics of flying saucers, Roswell, Majestic 12, including winning a debate at Oxford University.

The Covert World of UFO Crash Retrievals - An Overview of Black Operations

Using the testimony of key military whistleblowers and the Special Operations Manual, Dr Michael Salla will give an overview of the covert mechanisms and processes created to manage UFO Crash Retrievals. He will describe how a shadow military system has been developed within the conventional military where personnel are secretly recruited and employed for 'black projects' such as crash retrievals. In many cases this occurs without the knowledge of their immediate military superiors, and without official records being left of this covert military service in discharge papers. He will also examine how security is established for crash retrievals, and their incorporation into covert reverse engineering projects. Also, he will outline how personnel are managed in order to maintain security, and their responses to the policy of UFO secrecy implemented since the 1940's. Finally, Dr Salla will examine how funding of 'black projects' involving recovered/captured extraterrestrial technology influences the management of these projects, security and the secrecy policy on UFOs and the extraterrestrial hypothesis.

Dr. Michael E. Salla, is a pioneer in the development of 'Exopolitics', the scholarly study of the main actors, institutions and processes associated with an extraterrestrial presence that is not acknowledged to the general public, elected officials or the mass media. His interest in exopolitics evolved out of his investigation of the sources of international conflict and its relationship with the undisclosed extraterrestrial presence. His groundbreaking Exopolitics: Political Implications of the Extraterrestrial Presence (Dandelion Books, 2004) presents the first scholarly framework for understanding the political implications of the extraterrestrial presence. Dr. Salla is an internationally recognized scholar in international politics, conflict resolution and US foreign policy, and is the author/editor of an additional four books including The Hero's Journey Toward a Second American Century (Greenwood Press, 2002); Essays on Peace (Central Queensland University Press, 1995); Why the Cold War Ended (Greenwood Press, 1995); and Islamic Radicalism, Muslim Nations and the West (1993). He has also authored more than seventy articles, chapters, and book reviews on peace, ethnic conflict and conflict resolution. He has held academic appointments in the School of International Service& the Center for Global Peace, American University, Washington DC (1996-2004); the Department of Political Science, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia (1994-96); and the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University, Washington D.C., (2002). He has a Ph.D in Government from the University of Queensland, Australia, and an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He has conducted research and fieldwork in the ethnic conflicts in East Timor, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Sri Lanka, and organized peacemaking initiatives involving government officials and participants from these conflicts. His primary website is: www.exopolitics.org

UFO Crash Retrievals: The History of Leaks and Structure of Secrecy

Mr. Dolan will cover three themes - a history of insider leaks on recovered technology along with a description of several possible crash retrievals; an analysis -- based on open sources as well as insider accounts personally given to him; and how the secrecy of the reverse engineering program is managed. These themes constitute a critical aspect to Dolan's forthcoming second volume to his acclaimed UFOs and the National Security State, which will complete the history of the UFO phenomenon as it has intersected with the national security elements of the U.S. government, as well as with the rest of the world.

Richard has studied history, English, and philosophy as an undergraduate at Alfred University. His deep passion for the discipline of history resulted in a scholarship to study at Oxford University and a near miss for a Rhodes scholarship. He chose instead to do graduate work at the University of Rochester, where he focused on German and Soviet studies before moving on to American Cold War diplomacy. Not wanting to teach, he left academia to write. In 1994 he became interested in the UFO problem, approaching it from the angle of history and politics. He was intrigued by the cultural schizophrenia - the fact that mainstream and academic culture (official culture) continued to treat UFOs as amusement, but that so many intelligent people privately had taken it seriously. Throughout 1995, 1996, and 1997 he conducted a systematic bibliographic search, hunting down the many out-of-print books and UFO documents released over the years through the Freedom of Information Act. He found the amount of information nearly overwhelming. A detailed chronology of relevant events was prepared in advance of writing his critically acclaimed book, UFOs and the National Security State: Chronology of a Cover-up, 1947-1973. This book provides the crucial foundation everyone needs: a clear, comprehensive, but concise historical narrative of the problem. He is now at work on the study's second volume, which will take the story through the remainder of the 20th century.

Defying Gravity: The Parallel Universe of T. Townsend Brown

Of all the names of obscure 20th Century science, perhaps none is more obscure, or more curious, than that of Thomas Townsend Brown. As a teenager in the 1920s, working in a well-equipped laboratory in his wealthy family's opulent home, Brown noticed an unusual effect when high voltage was applied to a Coolidge X-Ray tube. With that observation, he believed he had found the physical evidence of what Einstein was at the same time proposing theoretically - the unified field, a link between electricity and gravity - and a way to lift and propel flying vehicles by purely electrical means. Thus begins the strange odyssey of T. Townsend Brown, who spent a lifetime crisscrossing the hemisphere in the relentless pursuit of his "flying saucer pipe dreams." But is that really what Townsend Brown was doing? Or is everything we think we know about the man merely a "cover story" for something even more remarkable and mysterious? In a 2006 Crash Conference exclusive, author Paul Schatzkin will make his first public presentation of the material he has compiled after nearly four years of concentrated research for his forthcoming biography Defying Gravity: The Parallel Universe of T. Townsend Brown. Drawing on his extensive contact with Brown's family - and colleagues with first-hand knowledge of Brown's undocumented activities - Schatzkin will attempt to unravel some of the riddles embodied in the life of a man who demonstrated "flying saucers" for the military in the early 1950s and whose contribution to the field of UFO studies dates back to his role as the true founder of NICAP in 1956.

Paul Schatzkin has led a life of multiple and diverse pursuits. After graduating from Antioch College in 1973 with a degree in communications, he worked in the television industry in Hollywood, and earned an Emmy Award nomination for his pioneering work in computerized video tape editing on the ABC-TV comedy "Barney Miller." In the 1980s he switched to another form of entertainment, taking tourists sailing and snorkeling in the Hawaiian Islands as the owner of a yacht charter service operating out of Lahaina, Maui. After a brief stint as a financial consultant with Shearson Lehman Brothers, Schatzkin graduated from the Musician's Institute in Los Angeles and eventually found his way to Nashville Tennessee, where he combined his interest in music and computers to form an Internet music retailer in 1995. Fortune smiled on him when the business was sold at the peak of the Internet bubble in 1999, freeing Schatzkin to commence his latest career as a "biographer of obscure 20th century scientists." His first book, published in 2002, was a biography of Philo T. Farnsworth, The Boy Who Invented Television who also developed an unorthodox and still promising approach to thermonuclear fusion. He is now researching and writing Defying Gravity: The Parallel Universe of T. Townsend Brown, which was originally envisioned as a sequel to the Farnsworth biography but has since taken on an almost unimaginable life of its own. A native of New Jersey, Schatzkin now lives with his wife Ann, three cats, and an old pickup truck near Nashville.

The Devils Hole UFO Crash Retrieval

This UFO crash incident in Nye County Nevada in August of 1949 holds the promise to be the breakthrough event for ufology. This crash is not discussed in my new book Majic Eyes Only www.majiceyesonly.com but, has all the classic elements of a UFO crash retrieval. There are newspapers articles identifying the event and witnesses, there are disinformation ploys by the government to hide the truth. And the key breakthrough is on-the-ground identification of the crash site. Attendees will view never before seen pictures of the crash site.

Born in Maryland in 1955, Ryan S. Wood first became interested in UFOs when his father, Dr. Robert Wood, was engaged in deciphering the physics of UFOs while managing a research project on anti-gravity for McDonnell Douglas. Ryan is now regarded as a leading authority on the Top Secret classified Majestic-12 intelligence documents and the 1941 Cape Girardeau, Missouri UFO Crash. He is the recent author of MAJIC EYES ONLY: Earths Encounters With Extraterrestrial Technology a landmark review and synthesis of 74 UFO crash retrieval events. A frequent lecturer on the UFO subject, Ryan has taught college courses and made numerous presentations about UFOs to civic organizations and at ufology conferences. He has organized three worldwide UFO crash retrieval symposia www.ufoconference.com and once presented a UFO lecture to a class on National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School that formed the basis of the final exam. He manages the content of www.majesticdocuments.com and along with his father was the executive producer of a television documentary on the authenticity of the Majestic-12 documents called The Secret. Mr. Wood earned a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Cal Poly, and is particularly interested in UFO documents. As a UFO researcher with MUFON he has chosen to specialize in the strategic problems of ufology: unquestionable proof, improved media acceptance, and increased participation in the UFO field.

After the Fire: How the Government Responds to Top Secret Crashes

How does the government respond when a TOP SECRET aerospace vehicle crashes on public land? Is the site sanitized? Do they remove every trace? Aerospace archeologist Peter Merlin has researched crashes of numerous exotic and experimental aircraft, especially those tested at Edwards Air Force Base, California, and the Groom Lake (Area 51) facility in Nevada. Many of these accidents involved vehicles and weapon systems that were classified SECRET or even TOP SECRET at the time of their loss. Visiting the crash sites today and studying the remaining physical evidence provides insight into the effectiveness of government/military crash retrieval activities. Based on declassified government documents, personal interviews with witnesses and participants, and extensive fieldwork, Merlin offers three case studies involving crash retrievals of unacknowledged "black" aircraft from Area 51 and Tonopah Test Range, and investigates a UFO crash retrieval reported by Kevin Randle in A History of UFO Crashes.

Peter W. Merlin is an aerospace historian who, since 1984, has researched the history of Area 51 and has written numerous articles on the subject. He has also appeared on such television programs as Inside Area 51, UFOs: Down To Earth, Return to Area 51, Mystery Hunters, Modern Marvels: Edwards Air Force Base, and Atomic Journeys. As a freelance writer Merlin has published numerous articles in a variety of periodicals, covering subjects from aerospace history to nuclear weapons accidents. He is the author of Mach 3+: NASA/USAF YF-12 Flight Research, 1969-1979 (NASA SP-2001-4525) and co-author of Donald L. Mallick's autobiography The Smell of Kerosene: A Test Pilot's Odyssey (NASA SP-2003-4108). As a founding member of the X-Hunters Aerospace Archeology Team, he also specializes in recovering historic aircraft artifacts from crash sites in the southwestern United States, especially from the areas surrounding Edwards Air Force Base, California, and Groom Lake, Nevada. He has visited over 100 aircraft wrecks including: X-1A, X-2, X-10, X-15, XP-80A, XB-51, XB-70, N-9M, YB-49, U-2, A-12, YF-12A, and SR-71. Merlin was born in Hollywood, California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Studies from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Merlin is a member of the Flight Test Historical Foundation, Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation, and the National Atomic Museum Foundation. He spends much of his time exploring the southwestern United States in search of ghost towns, mines, caves, prehistoric ruins and rock art, nuclear test sites, abandoned missile silos, fossils, and interesting natural features. He has also journeyed to the mountains of Baja California, Mexico, and the Tassili N'Ajjer plateau region of the central Sahara Desert in Algeria to photograph prehistoric cave paintings. Merlin occasionally lectures on aerospace history and prehistoric archeology.

Scenarios of Contact: Imagining Societal Reaction to Confirmed Arrival of Non-Human Intelligence

In 1998 and 1999, two invitation-only weekend seminars were convened to discuss in a systematic way the possible societal implications of confirmed, face-to-face contact between human beings and intelligent non-human entities. Among the 26 participants were several professional futurists, college professors, high-level business executives, a Hollywood film figure, journalists, a serving three-star general officer, and several UFO researchers. Michael Lindemann was a coordinator and participant in both meetings, which came to be called the Contact Planning Sessions. The approach taken in this project did not rely upon prior UFO lore, theory or evidence, but began from the simple premise that open, undeniable contact is possible and, if it occurred, would likely be a major turning point in human history. The scenario-planning method employed throughout attempted, first, to identify a range of critical uncertainties that would bracket all potential forms that the initial contact event might take; and second, to imagine how key stakeholder groups-media, government, religious, academic, business, general public-might react and interact in the face of varying contact scenarios. Of special concern was the element of "strangeness." As pointed out by famed ufologist Jacques Vallee, most popular images of "ET visitation" are characterized by a notable lack of strangeness. In the case of actual contact-including contact that may have already occurred covertly-"they" might be much stranger than we have thus far imagined. To date, no official report of these Contact Planning Sessions has ever been published. In this presentation, Michael Lindemann will reveal for the first time many of the findings of this unique project.

Michael Lindemann is a futurist and writer. During the period 1990 to 2000, he devoted much of his professional energy to the UFO subject. He was co-founder and director of the online Institute for the Study of Contact with Non-human Intelligence (ISCNI), and from 1995 to 2000 was editor and publisher of the influential online journal CNI News. He is the author of two books, UFOs and the Alien Presence: Six Viewpoints (1991) and Excelsior, a novel (2003).

Alien Viruses and Leaked Documents

Dr. Wood, a long-time researcher and UFO document examiner, will deal with the issues surrounding the introduction of alien diseases into our society, as triggered by revelations in both leaked documents and the open literature. Two fictional stories link the topic in the mind of the public: "The War of the Worlds" and the "The Andromeda Strain." These fictional stories have played a critical role in the perspective of the cover-up over the decades. He will specifically identify relevant documents and phrases therein that deal with human deaths, and show possible relationships with alien pathogens. The control of epidemics arising from exposure to alien pathogens has always been a sensible worry, and there have been several alien crashes that have been followed by local deaths. Several examples of alien infections will be explored, with some consideration of the possibility that cattle mutilations may be experiments by both aliens and our own covert forces to better understand the long term effects of viruses and prions--the latter the apparent source of deadly mad cow and related diseases. Alien pathogens have played and are playing a critical role in our global society and are certainly being studied both by human forces and by also by the aliens themselves.

With a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Colorado and a Ph.D. in physics from Cornell, a 43-year career at McDonnell Douglas managing research and development projects and over thirty years of investigation into UFOs, Dr. Wood is uniquely qualified to provide credible analysis about the nature of the UFO reality. He began reconstructing the (MAJIC) Special Operations Manual in 1995. He has given lectures and authored many articles on the UFO topic including "Validating the New Majestic Documents," "Another Look at Majestic," "Philip Corso: An Alternative Take," and "The Extraterrestrial Hypothesis Is Not That Bad."

The Braxton County Monster

On the night of September 12, 1952, a shocked American public sought answers when strange unidentified objects were seen flying through the sky over Washington, DC and the eastern United States. Up and down the East Coast, police stations, newspapers, airports, military bases and the Pentagon were besieged with calls from frantic citizens. One of the strange objects crash-landed on a rural hilltop in Flatwoods, West Virginia. A group of schoolboys saw the object maneuver across the sky and seemingly fall to Earth. Was it a meteor, plane, or anything they could explain? The boys and two adults headed off to look for the object. Soon a twelve-foot tall being from the downed craft terrified these innocent people. This being became known as "The Flatwoods Monster," or "The Braxton County Monster."

Upon graduation from high school, Frank Feschino Jr. was accepted to Paier School of Art, a private college in Hamden Connecticut. His major field of study was Commercial Art, specialized in Illustration, with a minor in Advertising. Along with these studies, he also studied Photography. After completing a four year program, he received an Art's Diploma in 1981. After graduation, he worked as an illustrator and assisted in his father's business. In the early 1990's, Feschino became involved in UFO and Crop Circle research in West Virginia. He frequently visited a relative's farm located in Braxton County, where Crop Circles appeared over night and UFO sightings were frequent. This is when Feschino learned about the 1952 "Braxton County Monster" Incident, which occurred in Flatwoods, near his cousin's farm. In 1991, he contacted MUFON and was granted a meeting with Crop Circle enthusiast, Colin Andrews. Shortly afterward, Feschino met with MUFON representatives and Colin Andrews and supplied him with his West Virginia UFO and Crop Circle documentation. He continued to collaborate with Andrews about the ongoing anomalies occurring in Braxton County but Frank's curiosity with the Flatwoods Incident proved to be his calling. He began to investigate this 1952 incident at a deeper level and devoted all of his time to it. Feschino moved to Florida to further his education. In 1993, he enrolled in Phillip's JR College and studied film and video production. He continued to travel to West Virginia during his schooling but was now armed with camera operation knowledge as well as interviewing and scriptwriting skills. It was during Frank's two-year training program that the Braxton County Monster evolved into a production project. He combined his strong Art background together with his video production and scriptwriting skills; his story began to take shape. After graduating from Phillip's JR College, Feschino began to travel more and expanded his research throughout the eastern United States, continually gathering more information. His investigation gained the attention of television and radio psychic, Gary Spivey. Frank voiced nearly 50 radio shows in Florida discussing the subject of UFOs and his West Virginia research. He made several guest appearances in the Tampa area at conventions and then expanded his radio audience into the Atlanta area as well as the Baltimore area. Meanwhile, Frank was working on his video documentary and piecing it together from his script when he simultaneously began writing a book. This hectic schedule put a temporary end to his public appearances and he again concentrated solely on his book project. After going into seclusion for the next few years, Frank finished his book. In addition to his book manuscript, he also illustrated it with over 40 paintings and drawings as well as hundreds of accompanying photographs. In October of 2001, Frank Feschino JR went public again after his four-year absence. This time he went public in Flatwoods West Virginia as a guest of the town's mayor. Frank appeared at the Flatwoods Fall Festival with special guests, witnesses Fred and Kathleen May, who made a very rare public appearance. This public appearance marked and celebrated the 49th Anniversary of the Flatwoods Monster Incident. Frank informed several hundred curious visitors who came to Flatwoods inquiring about the story, that a book would soon be made available. Feschino's dedication and devotion to this story has gained the trust of those involved in this incident to only speak with him and no one else.

El Indio - Guerrero, Dec 6, 1950 UFO Crash Retrieval

For an hour the United States military was under a condition of national emergency during the morning of December 6, 1950 at precisely the same time as White House phone records show a dramatic increase in switchboard traffic. Two days later the FBI was informed that the Army's Counter Intelligence Corps had been placed on Immediate High Alert for any information related to flying saucers. It is possible that these two events are related by the Eisenhower Briefing Document, a Top Secret Majestic-12 briefing that also states "that an object impacted the earth at high speed in the El Indio - Guerrero area of the Texas - Mexican border" This talk will further explore the testimony and connection to Col Willingham and his testimony of visiting the crash site, retrieving debris for further study.

Bruce spent his early years in Rutland, Vt. After high school he studied physics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass (B.S. in physics) and then at The American University, Washington, DC (M.S. and Ph. D. in physics). In 1972 commenced his long career at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, presently headquartered at Dahlgren, Virginia. He has worked on optical data processing, generation of underwater sound with lasers and various aspects of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) using high power lasers. Bruce Maccabee has been active in UFO research since late 1960s when he joined the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) and was active in research and investigation for NICAP until its demise in 1980. He became a member of MUFON in 1975 and was subequently appointed to the position of state Director for Maryland, a position he still holds. In 1979 he was instrumental in establishing the Fund for UFO Research and was the chairman for the about 13 years. He presently serves on the National Board of the Fund. His UFO research and investigations (which are completely unrelated to his Navy work) have included the Kenneth Arnold sighting (Jun 24, 1947), the McMinnville, Oregon (Trent) photos of 1950, the Gemini 11 astronaut photos of September, 1966, the New Zealand sightings of December, 1978, the Japan Airlines (JAL1628) sighting of November 1986, the numerous sightings of Ed Walters and others in Gulf Breeze, Florida, 1987 - 1988, the "red bubba" sightings,1990-1992 (including his own sighting in September, 1991), the Mexico City video of August, 1997, the Phoenix lights sightings of March 13, 1997 at 10 PM and many others. He has also done historical research and was the first to obtain the "flying disc file" of the FBI (the REAL X-Files!). Dr. Maccabee is the author or coauthor of about three dozen technical articles and more than a hundred UFO articles over the last 25 years, including many which appeared in the MUFON Journal and MUFON Symposium proceedings. He wrote the last chapter of "The Gulf Breeze Sightings" by Edward and Frances Walters (Morrow, 1990). He wrote the UFO history chapter of the book "UFOs: Zeugen und Zeichen," published in Germany in 1995. He is co-author with Edward Walters of "UFOs Are Real, Here's The Proof," (Avon Books, 1997), he is the author of "The UFO/FBI Connection" (Llewellyn Books, May, 2000) and he is the author of novel, "Abduction in My Life," (to be published, November, 2000). He is listed in Who's Who in Technology Today and American Men and Women of Science an he has appeared on numerous radio and TV shows and documentaries.

The Lummi Island Incident: A Watery Roswell?

According to massive eyewitness testimony and official U.S. Coast Guard reports, an unidentified object splashed down out of a clear summer night sky into northwest Washington's Puget Sound on July 27, 1984. Six months later, on December 30, a private recovery effort located the puzzling object, and the team's divers surveyed it. The very next day, the recovery team returned with the goal of actually retrieving what appeared to be some sort of humming, metallic vessel wedged into the bottom of Bellingham Bay off the southern tip of Lummi Island.

One of Matthew Thuney's earliest memories involves standing on the front lawn of his family's home in Pennsylvania, staring up at the night sky as the Russian satellite Sputnik passed ominously overhead. While most of the adults in the neighborhood wondered, "What are those doggone Reds up to now," Matthew thought, "One day people will be up there. Maybe not even Earth people!" Matthew has been chasing lights in the sky and thinking strange thoughts ever since. Matthew Thuney graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Santa Barbara (comparative religions/anthropology), briefly studied for the Episcopal ministry, attended the Columbia School of Broadcasting, and is the author of two books, Original Recipes (a collection of his humor/human interest columns) and Messages from Beyond: A Personal Journey from Experience to Understanding (a confidential and cultural discussion of the "contactee" phenomenon. Matthew continues to work as a freelance columnist and journalist, print manager, and director of the study group CONTACT (The Center for Ontological Action). He lives, writes, and studies in northwest Washington in the loving company of his long-suffering wife Donna.
